2012 Terms and Conditions
Terms and Conditions for 2012 Members
Madison Meadowlark CSA
1. Please read and sign the following statement(s). If you agree to all of its conditions, check the option as such on the Web registration form.
I, (by checking the option button and submitting the form you are signing your name) , do hereby affirm my desire to become a member of Madison Meadowlark CSA/Farm Shares (MMCSA) for the 2012 season. I am comfortable with the farm communicating changes, updates, and announcements about my shares via email and Facebook. If I do not use either email of Facebook, it is my responsibility to work with MMCSA to set up alternate arrangements for communication.
COMMITMENT
In signing up for a CSA share I am committing to investing the full cost of the share into the farm. Whether I pay in full or in installments, I am liable for the full amount of the share. I understand that the farm plans the year's vegetable production and makes investments based on these commitments, so it is imperative that I fully pay for my share.
If I must cancel my share due to event outside of my control (i.e., moving out of state), I may either:
-Give or sell my remaining share to someone else. If I choose this option, it is my responsibility to find someone to take the remainder of my share.
-Leave the share for the local Food Bank to pick up each week for the remainder of the season.
PICK UP
I will pick up or arrange for pick up of produce from the specified location in a timely fashion. If pick up cannot be arranged, CSA boxes will be picked up by the local food bank at the end of the day. I will address any questions or concerns about a CSA box with the farmer.
I may bring my own reusable bag(s) to each pickup as I understand that the produce boxes/crates are not to be taken home. There will be plastic grocery-style bags at the pickup location, should I forget my bag at home.
PRODUCE
I understand that the farm cannot grow produce when the oceans boil over, or a meteor strikes the cornfield, or in other acts-of-god situations...(in Montana this is likely to be hail, snow, fire, or some other act of nature). I’m willing to share in the risks of investing in an organic farmer and will not hold Maleesha or any other MMCSA farmer legally accountable for extenuating circumstances that may minimize the return on my investment.
I understand that each share will be built from vegetable that are in season, and as the seasons mature, so will the type and quantity of the vegetables. That said, I am expecting a season’s worth of produce in very good condition, of reasonable quantity, and extra good quality as an appropriate return on this investment.
2. By signing up for the CSA, I understand that I will be added to the weekly email list. This is how MMCSA communicates updates and changes, as well as what will be in shares each week.
If you don’t use email, please contact us, so that we can make sure you stay informed.
3. You may schedule vacation with us during the season. This will allow for you to put a hold on your CSA box for that given delivery date. You will then be given a credit to use for a double share the week after you return, provided that you give us a full 7 days notice of your vacation. Otherwise your share will go to the local food bank, which they always appreciate.
THANKS!
Thank you for choosing Madison Meadowlark. We strive to be an awesome alternative to corporate grocery stores and of course Mal-Wart. We think you will be happy with what we give you. We look forward to growing with you this season.
